World of Pets Expo is happening this weekend, Feb 15—17 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton. This is a fun and educational experience for the family and pets. Love Your Pet Day 5K & 10K Norfolk
Tidewater Women’s & LGBT Primary Care, in Norfolk, is hosting a Love Your Pet Day 5K & 10K. This is a virtual race, and although the National Day is February 20, this event can take place any time of the month. You can choose your own time and place; a walk in the park, hiking on a trail, or even running on the treadmill at your gym. Simply complete the race on your own, and submit your time. There is a $20 fee, but this also includes a medal which will be directly mailed to you, an official bib and covers your shipping cost. Also, 15% of every entry will be donated to Petsmart Charities. Dog Luring Day Care-A-Lot
If your dog loves to chase things, head over to Care-A-Lot on today for their dog luring day. Never heard of it? It’s an enclosed course, that utilizes a controlled and mechanized “bait” that simulates live prey. This is a fun way for your dog to let loose and exercise. Have your camera ready! In addition to dog luring, there will also be an Adoption Event there that day. So if you’re looking to bring home another loved one, this is a great way to do it. This is at their Diamond Springs location from 12-3.
Also with Care-A-Lot, there will be a social event focusing on this month’s topic, dental. At any of their locations on February 21, from 7pm-8pm, enjoy some light refreshments and meet some furry friends while you learn how to improve your pet’s dental health. There will gifts and prizes available, and there will also be a drawing for a $20 gift card! This is a free event; leashed and friendly pets are always welcome.
These are just a couple of the larger events going on this month. Now that we’re finally getting a few sunny and warmer days (not enough though!), your fur baby will be happy to go and explore with you no matter where you choose to take them. Take a look at your city’s page for any pet friendly events or even local dog parks so they can kick up some dirt!
